Duck, NC: The little resort village of Duck is a sleepy residential area for families and vacationers.  It is a resort with rental homes and condos filling the need for those craving a quiet beach vacation from sea to sound.  

    The lively side of Duck is the mile long heart of the village with a beautiful sound front public park and shopping promenades with appealing boutiques.  Duck boasts a wide variety of restaurants from comfortable coffee shops and casual cafes to fine dining equal in quality to those in major cities.  Duck is also home to the Sanderling Inn, a 5 Star inn, restaurant and spa which adjoins this property.

Outer Banks of North Carolina:  A chain of barrier islands midway on the Atlantic seaboard located 90 miles south of Norfolk, Virginia and 321 miles north of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  It has a rich history beginning with Sir Walter Raleigh's Lost Colony and The Wright Brother's first flight at Kitty Hawk.

    Surrounded by 900 square miles of water, it has the third largest estuary system in the world with many wildlife refuges and maritime forests.  The miles of uncrowded, pristine beaches are rated among the best in the USA year after year.

    The Outer Banks is accessible by car from Virginia by Highway 168, or from North Carolina by Highway 64.  It is also accessible by private plane at Kill Devil Hills (First Flight Airport), Manteo (Manteo Airport) and this property has the use of the private Pine Island Airport in Corolla, 3 miles north of Duck on Hwy 12.
